Beca means scholarship in Spanish. The Global Beca Foundation is founded by a group of supporters for community based international education and the foundation is assisted by the China and Shanghai Friendship Association (CASHFA).
The foundation is inspired by its Honorary Chairwoman: Mrs. Florence Lee Fong who is one of the most influential leaders in globalization, a champion for social justice, a philanthropist, and Chairwoman of the Fong Family Foundation.
Scholarships are a key enabler for international exchange and people to people activities. Currently, fewer American higher education institutions provide dedicated scholarships to international students, The Global Beca Foundation aspires to lead the efforts in attracting and inspiring talented international students to cherish their dreams to cross all borders.
The Foundation supports globalization of world affairs and
encourages qualifying international students to cross the boarders of cultures, languages,
politics and economic strata. It aims to enhance the international exchange in
a resourceful way.
